The Book
Azul is a fantasy novel set in Europe during what would've been the Renaissance, but a new dark age emerges with the rise of a massive Dragon. The beast destroys society and breaks the world, leaving the strong and cruel to rule over the weak. 20 years after the rise of the Dragon, we follow the story of Azul, a young woman who after a run-in with the local gang, finds she has powers, powers that put her above any mere mortal. Now, these powers put her and those she loves at risk by forces she can't comprehend. Azul must become something the world hasn't had in centuries, a hero!
How it came to be
Azul has been a passion project of mine for more than 5 years. Through the years, I spent countless hours researching, writing, editing and reviewing this story. From what originally started as just a fun exercise and way to pass the time, it has turned into one of my most treasured creations.
The Author
Before writing Azul, Omar Soussi was a journalist, writing for organizations like the Arizona Republic, Mercury News, And Forbes. He earned a degree in history and sports journalism at Arizona State University. He currently works as a Teacher in Arizona.
